Welcome to Crescent Surgery Boscombe, Bournemouth

Our flu clinics run from September and are bookable now for eligible patients. To check your eligibility, check the NHS guidance here, or contact reception.

Due to an unforeseen GP shortage, we currently have a limited number of GP appointments at the surgery. During this temporary shortage, you may receive a telephone call, to re-arrange your pre-booked appointment. There will also be a limited number of on the day appointments.

In order to continue to provide you with the best service possible, we may ask you to attend one of our other surgeries for on the day or routine appointments, or to attend a GP appointment at the hospital. We may also offer you a weekend appointment. Please bear with us during this temporary issue. We anticipate that normal service will resume by December. Many thanks for your patience.

On Mondays and Fridays, clinical services for Crescent patients are run from Providence and Strouden Park surgeries. This is to maximise GP and nurse availability for all patients across our surgery group and support the ongoing training of new doctors.

Although our GP appointments on Mondays and Fridays will be based at other sites, Crescent Surgery opening hours will remain the same, with the building open for patients to make enquiries, book appointments and collect prescriptions.

For more information please click here to read our Patient Information Document.

Please note that the surgery will be closed on Tuesday 27th November, from 15.30 to 18.30, for staff training. All calls will be answered by 111 during this time. The surgery will re-open as usual on Wednesday 28th November at 08.30.

Crescent Surgery is a vibrant friendly practice providing a range of high quality medical services to the whole community, young and old, in the heart of Boscombe, Bournemouth. Our aim at Crescent is to promote health in the areas of Boscombe, East Cliff, Charminster and Southbourne and our modern, friendly practice provides a range of high quality medical services for the whole community. As a patient at Crescent, your named accountable GP is Dr Mufeed Ni'man, although you are free to request an appointment with any of our available GPs.

The Surgery welcomes people from all ethnic groups and we have doctors who can speak Arabic. Services include health visitors, midwifery, nursing and district nursing and are mainly free under the NHS but parallel private services outside the NHS scope are available.

We are open every weekday but closed on the Weekends and Bank Holidays.

Improved Access to General Practice Services

To help improve access to appointments for our patients, in particular during evenings and at weekends, you may be offered an appointment at the Urgent Treatment Centre at Royal Bournemouth Hospital. If you would like one of these appointments, please speak to reception who can arrange this for you.

It may be necessary for us to offer you an appointment at the Urgent Treatment Centre between Monday and Friday during our normal opening hours if we have no available appointments in the Practice.  Out of hours you can also call 111 where a triage process will determine whether an appointment is needed before directing you to the most appropriate service.

Appointments at the Urgent Treatment Centre are pre-bookable (unlike A&E) so waiting times following your arrival are similar to being seen in the Practice. The Urgent Treatment Centre is located close to the entrance to A&E, and is clearly signposted.

At the weekend there is also a separate walk-in service available at the Boscombe & Springbourne Health Centre that runs from 08:00 to 20.00 on both Saturday and Sunday.

Please note: The walk-in service is a separate service operated by a different provider that is not in affiliation with the Crescent Surgery. For more information on the service please visit the website here.
